Pinoy Expat , a.k.a. OFW

Wow! Pinoy expats! I think it sounds better than the so commonly used OFW. But before I go further let us first check what the word means.

"An expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person's upbringing. The word comes from the Latin terms ex ("out of") and patria ("country, fatherland")", this is according to Wikipedia. "In its broadest sense, an expatriate is any person living in a different country from where he or she is a citizen. In common usage, the term is often used in the context of professionals

The Best of Success

The Laws of SUCCESS

By Rex Duenas

Why are only the very few - women as well as men - successful in life?

Just what is success?

Did it ever occur to you that there might be reason why so many people make a failure in life? Not only men and career women, but wives and mothers too!

Are you one who is wrestling with the problem of "making ends meet"? Nearly all of us are. This problem need not mean failure - yet it often leads to it.

IS HUMAN NEED EVER BECOME A FAILURE!

The High Cost Of Waiting

By Cheryl Sperling

"Pay yourself first!" Maybe you have heard this a lot of times. But have you done this or followed it every time you get your salary? This is one of the secrets of how to save. (I will discuss soon all the secrets to save money.) Again, we emphasize the concept of "Salary minus Savings equals Expenses". If you do so, then you will be able to build up capital which will earn you passive income in the future.
"Money working for you!"

In the following chart, I will show you the outcome of saving early and the effect of waiting longer. As you can see the first person , whom we shall call as Mr. Start Early and the other person as Mr. Wait Longer.
Both of them saved P20,000- (about P55- a day or P1,700- a month) per year for 6 years.

Today's Quote

"The rich work hard at managing their passive wealth, the poor work hard to manage their excessive debts. If you want to become rich, learn how to invest. By investing you are paying yourself first, instead of paying your banker or tax man. You have to save Capital, Invest it to earn passive income at the lowest tax rate possible."

5. Build Long-Term Savings

By Cheryl Sperling

Savings. We need to have savings to take care of our short, medium, and long term plans. Short term savings may be for financing your travel plan in the coming months or for the tuition of your kids this coming school opening. The medium term savings may be for your plan of buying a car or a house in 2 to 3 years time. And the long term savings goes towards your retirement.

Shall I Spend or Save?

We are born with free will! We value our freedom to choose whatever we like! And the question is, shall I spend or shall I save? In this time of consumerism, we are bombarded with lots of ads on televisions, magazines, on the internet and even on our mobile phones, of new stuffs to buy and new gadgets being released. Our friends and acquaintances are donning the latest fashion and hairstyle and so we have to have it as well, yah? Well, its our choice! If we want to achieve financial security then we have to decide wisely. Its the peso you keep consistently that will make you wealthy! Shall you follow the road of the spenders or the road less traveled by the savers?

Merry Christmas to one and all!

If you want your wealth to grow then you must learn to give ...
it is only in giving that we receive!
And Christmas is the time for giving ... sharing what we have to those who has less.
And Christmas is also the time to thank God for all the blessings He has showered on us!
And don't forget that it's Christ's birth we are celebrating ....

Wishing you all a Blessed Christmas !!

Keep Dreaming

Always live your life with one dream to fulfill. No matter how many of your dreams you have realized in the past, always have a dream to go. Because when you stop dreaming, life becomes a mundane existence.

4. Ensure Proper Protection

By Cheryl Sperling

One of the easiest ways to protect your assets is with insurance
You can insure your home, car, income, health, and even your own life.

Among Filipinos, talking about insurance connotes something bad will happen. When in fact, insurance should be synonymous to protection!

Life insurance will ensure that your family will be taken cared of in the event that the breadwinner dies.

Nuggets of Wisdom

“What you subconsciously want, you will get. And what you subconsciously do not want, you will avoid.”

-- Bo Sanchez, 8 Secrets of the Truly Rich

Frugal Living Tips

Living frugal doesn’t mean that life has to be boring. I have a passion for photography, but I don’t need the biggest lens and camera.  Even phone photography is very trendy now. The best camera is the one you have with you! Ask your parents or grand parents, they might have a old or even vintage camera with which you will look super trendy!

Often we drive by car to the corner store or to school. Walk more, do not take the car for a trip you can walk in 15-20 minutes. Plan ahead and walk.
Save gas, burn some calories and be happier.

Nuggets of Wisdom

“Enlarge your psychological wallet.
The poor have tiny psychological wallets.
God wants to give them more
but their psychology can’t handle the blessing.”
